If truth is to be told, I am residing in Arkaos temporarily for related business anyways. It isn't an inconvenience on me to deal with an errant thief plaguing the capital treasuries. It should be more than enough to pardon the cost of our house levies." Archer shielded his tired eyes from the morning sun, still fighting the after effects of his night spent drinking.

"As.. for the Empress, I had, but decided it would be best not to bring any of my attention to her clothing at all. It would be very uncouth of me. But I suppose the royal family does not wish to honor the late Emperor as the rest of the nation has? It is very intriguing whatever the reason."
He added with a slight chuckle.

Mary? Somehow Lyon doubted this; she didn't seem like a Mary in the slightest. He decided it better not to question the strange rogue any further.
"Well, Mary, I am very glad to see you've remained in one piece so far then. How much longer do you intend to stay in the city?"

"um three days," she said it lined up with the next tax caraged to the king, weird. She smiled up at him thinking about how she could use her strengths to take him down.

"I don't know why the nobles should ne punished for being disrespectful to the memory of the Emperor, if his own daughter doesn't mourn him" commented Aedan.
He started to feel tirs, ans was trying to hide a yawn.

"I will help you find this thief. You are right, it may help us to... Solve our problem. I would rather make amends to the Empress by myself than involve my family and the Duchy of Doria. And, it might be an interesting aventure".

(sorry about being inactive. Life came up, haven't forgotten about this, I'm just still trying to get my muse back. ;;)

"3 days? I see." Lyon seemed to think it through over a bite of potato.
"Guess I will need to keep my ears on the town gossip. I'm fairly certain you are someone who does not leave a city without some sort of commotion. One to tell tales of, for sure. I will see you around until then, I have business to take care of today regarding my residency."

He laughed slightly as he read the man's face. He was serious?
"Are you sure you understand what you are even getting yourself involved into? When it comes to witches, they are vile, tricky women who will play off your darkest desires. Unequipped with the faith of the church, you are nothing more than prey to them, boy. Even if this one is just a lowly thief, you put yourself at a high risk of hexes. But it would be rude of me to refuse you the opportunity to prove yourself and your house to this bitter Empress. You still know these lands and this city far better than I do, I will be grateful for your assistance. But please do not get in my way, thinking this is some sort of 'grand adventure.'"

"I have to admit that I never had to deal with a witch, at least not by myself. But I prefer to see it as an adventure that could allow me to prove my worth, even if it may be dangerous, that to complain because nobles should not have to run after mere thieves. Nevertheless, I promise to not take it litghly, and to listen carefuly to your instructions."

Aedan didn't think he had many dark desires, but, what lf he was wrong? What if he had hidden weakness, ones that je wasn't even aware of, which a witch could use against him? This thoughts were slightly frightening.

"alright, hey where do you think the best place to by a horse is?" she asked looking back at him.

(Don't mean to leave you guys hanging or accidentally kill this by not responding, but just need to take a break from rp for a bit since my mental state's been in decline the last two weeks and I'm totally braindead with anything rn. Want to give it another week/week and a half to see where I'm at before I can pick this back up.)
