Name: Sunrise Bolt
Gender: Female
Race: Pegasus
Appearance: Sunrise has an agile build that is taller than most pegasi. She has a periwinkle coat with a watermelon pink mane and tail with streaks of yellow orange in it. She usually keeps it in a pony tail and her tail is short and braided. Her eyes are a sky blue.
Cutie Mark: the sun with a streak behind it, like it's a shooting star
History: Sunrise Streak was born to a normalish family who all specialized in weather related things. However, she found she liked flying and standing up for things she believed in to be more important to her. She became a security guard after stopping some miscreants from vandalizing the weather factory in Cloudsdale. This was how she got her cutie mark- flying so fast she made a streak that was like the sunrise. She soon moved up in the world and is now a security consultant for Celestia. She helps train the guards and fix any holes in security. She also consults for various events and other important ponies.
Other:
She is a strong fighter despite her delicate and agile appearance.
She is also rather scholarly sometimes.

I think I want a third character... but I don't know what gender I want. I don't want an imbalance of more of one gender than the other.

An imbalance in genders isn't a huge deal. I worry about that more in group roleplays.

I kind of want to give your disastrous character a friend. Or someone trying to make her see that she's not at fault for anything.

Race: Earth Pony
Appearance: Cherry is average height for an earth pony, but definitely has earth pony strength. She has a big, poofy mane and tale that's cherry red with a dark red stripe in it. Her eyes are a bright magenta while her body is almond brown.
Cutie Mark: A cherry bomb
History: Cherry Bomb was born into a family of sales ponies. They sold merchandise of all sorts, even some of their own invention. Cherry, however, was talented in inspiring ponies. She became a motivational speaker, traveling across Equestria to give speeches to empower the ponies. She also enjoys a bit of fun and has been known to use cherry bombs to startle ponies. She always has permission, though, and she makes sure to keep all her fun safe, for the most part. But when she sees a pony down, she chases after them to give them some confidence.
