The clan's last few members sat in a circle around the food pile, it was empty save for a single beetle.
"We must stay strong, food will return soon. Starclan told me in a dream." the voice of a she cat who was in awful condition rose above the silence. "We have lost our kits, our apprentices, and our elders. We have lost our deputy and our queens. We must remain strong within our dwindling numbers." The cats around shuffled around and they shuddered at the small breeze, no longer having a thick enough pelt or enough fat to protect them from chills. They had to make a tough decision. Do they stay and try to survive this famine or leave to see if it has spread to other clans and areas. The silence was broken occasionally but by the end of the night they had decided. They would stay loyal to their camp and the land where their family and clan mates had been born, raised, and died in.

*apologies to everyone I told I would be making this yesterday, i got busy and just now had time to make this*
Sorroweyes
Sorroweyes quickly moved through the forest, his paws crunching on the last leaves of fall. He had the scent, he saw the tracks in the soft dirt. Even a measly rat would feed at least two cats in these troubling times. A hole! He slowed and crept up to it, slowly and carefully, this rat could mean life or death to a cat.
Puddlestep
Puddlestep sat on the large rock that was settled on the side of their camp. It was a sunny day, a rare one for the fall weather, and she didn't have to hunt until later. The sun warmed her fur and what seemed like her bones. With a purr of contentedness she stretched and lay down, enjoying the warmth.
Badgerheart
Badgerheart grumbled to himself as he passed the nursery and apprentice den, they were so loud for such an early morning and he hated it. He hated many things these days and spent much of his time wishing he would perish so he could join his mate and the rest of his friends and kin in Starclan. An opportunity hadn't presented itself yet but he was constantly on the lookout for one.
Witheredstar
He watched over his clan with a sorrowful sort of pride. They had made it this far, they could survive a little longer and a little longer after that. This dreadful famine had to end soon, it must or they would have to relocate and none of the cats wanted to leave behind their home. He hopped down off the tiny ledge that led into his den and walked through camp, occasionally checking in on whoever he passed.

Sunspot
Gah! Another flea. The ginger tom sat inside the medicine den, scratching furiously at his ear. These things were relentless - they itched like crazy, and moreover, could be spread. The last thing he wanted to happen. Sagewhisp might be able to teach him something to get rid of them later.
Mooneyes
Mooneyes wandered out of the warrior's den, eyes grazing over the pitiful fresh-kill pile. It was barely a pile. Barely a lump. Part of her wanted to go looking for prey, but another kept her paws in camp to relax. She came to the base of the large rock and looked up. "Puddlestep! Mind if I join you?"

(I'll check it out)
Puddlestep
"I dont mind at all, the rock is big enough and the sun doesn't seem to be going anywhere." She said as she shimmied around to find an even more comfortable position. "I needed this. We all needed a nice day like this."

Reedpaw
Reedpaw padded out of the apprentice den and flopped on the ground outside. She started to groom her ruffled fur, letting the grogginess of sleep melt away in the morning sun. Her stomach rumbled in hunger,
I'll have to ask Puddlestep if we could go hunting she thought absently. She was feeling lazy, but she knew she'd have to get up and do her apprentice duties sooner rather than later.

Thornfur - Deputy
Thornfur padded back into camp from a short hunt alone. He loved the feel of the wind through his fur and the warmth of the sun on his pelt. He had brought back a two mice to supply the fresh kill pile after hunting for what felt like forever. He placed his kill in the small pile and padded over to his leader sitting down near him, scanning the area for his apprentice, Hawthornpaw. When he didn't Immediately see him he decided to spark conversation with Witheredstar. "So, what's on your mind?" He quietly asked his friend.
Rosewing - Warrior
Rosewing sat with her mother, Lilytail in a warm sunny spot outside of the elders den, and told her about her dreams and adventures she's recently had in the forest. As she talked to Lilytail she groomed the elders pelt, not forgetting to groom behind her ears. "Stop it now, I'm not a kit, I can get behind my own ears." The elder rambled on. In her older age she's become more difficult. Rosewing is one of Lilytail's only surviving kits and they have formed a deep bond. They said their goodbyes and Rosewing was off. Not sure what to do next she sunbathed alone awaiting a order or some sort of conversation.
Fangpaw - Apprentice
The apprentice was sitting right outside of the apprentices den dosing off. He wasn't quite sure where his mentor was nor did he bother looking for them. He laid curled up like a cozy kit in the sun waiting for his mentor to go hunting or practice something with him or even for a fellow clan mate to engage in conversation with him.
(Fangpaw doesn't have a mentor so I wan't quite sure what to do with him.)

*his mentor is sorroweyes, I put down the wrong name sorry >.< *
Sorroweyes
He stood there, ready to pounce, for what seemed like hours. He knew he had to be patient. The leaves swirled around his feet in a fust of wind, one that chilled him greatly. The leaves stirred again, this time without a wind and a rat streaked out of the little den. Sorroweyes pounced, life or death, and missed. He cursed himself as he went after it, eventually catching it and swinging it by the tail.
...
He walked into camp with the rat and a content aura. He dropped it in the pile before looking around camp, seeing his apprentice he decided to walk over and see if he was up for any training. Sorroweyes might be tired but the clan needs strong apprentices and warriors.
Witheredstar
The big tom was startled out of his thoughts as he was spoken too. He glanced at his deputy and gave a sigh. "I hate being such a negative thinker, I truly do, but this clan needs food. Cats are getting too sick or dying left and right. If this keeps up we're going to have to move the clan to somewhere more abundant." Witheredstar shuffled his paws around with an old leaf before tearing it up. "How've you been Thornfur? Dont just say good, how have you really been."
Puddlestep
"I dont mind at all, the rock is big enough and the sun doesn't seem to be going anywhere." She said as she shimmied around to find an even more comfortable position. "I needed this. We all needed a nice day like this."
Mooneyes heaved herself up onto the rock beside Puddlestep, stretching her paws. "I totally understand. Besides, it looks like Thornfur brought back some prey." She nodded over to where the deputy had placed the mice onto the pile. "It won't feed many, but we can hunt later."

Thornfur - Deputy
He sat quietly listening to his leader. He looked up from his paw and directed his gaze to Witheredstar with a sigh. "Well, to be honest, I hate to admit it but you might be right. I've been thinking about it to. I'd hate to leave the lands we've called home for so long but we may starve if we don't." He said that almost avoiding the tom's actual question. He shook his head and once again looked at his leader, eyes full of sadness. "I've been holding up." He pauses and sighs again. "I try to think this'll all be over soon but I'm not so sure anymore. I can't watch another cat wither away. It pains me, slowly watching our clan die."
Fangpaw- Apprentice
Fangpaw startled awake out of no where from his peaceful dream. He glanced up watching as his mentor walked into camp and placed a rat in the pile. He slowly stretched yawning and then standing up. He slowly padded over to Sorroweyes looking back and realizing there was another apprentice lounging near him for a while. He looked up at the big tom while padding his paws on the ground. "So, what're we to do today?" He asked sitting down.
Rosewing - Warrior
Rosewing watched as Sorroweyes came into camp. She tried not to look for to long nervous some other cat would notice her liking towards him. She decided she'd be brave today and padded over to Puddlestep and Mooneyes, dipping her head in greetings to them. The colorful she-cat ended up tripping over her own paws embarrassing herself. She almost retreated to her nest but decided to stay.

Puddlestep nodded. "We could try the south corner of the territory, I don't think many patrols go there so there might be a mouse or two." The sun's warmth was making her sleeping and she could feel herself nodding off. "We'll find something."
